Ok, here we go.
The study for this week is going to be the first chapter of Ephesians. Here are some things to look for and think on.
When we read and study scripture we don't want to just take it to mean whatever we want it to. We need to ask some questions as we go.
Like, who wrote it? Who were they writing it to and why? How, does this effect me today? Everything must be taken into the context in which it was written. The contest will determine the meaning. We want to understand what the meaning is, so that we can apply it to our lives.
The word of God is alive and powerful and we should always ask God to reveal his word to us before we read it and trust that He will. He delights in doing so to those who want to know the truth.
If you have any insights, thoughts, questions regarding the scripture we are studying this week, just let me know. If I cannot answer the questions, I'll find someone who can.
It says in Psalms 119:11, Thy word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.
As we read and hide God's word in our hearts we grow stronger and more confident in Him. He loves us and longs to have a relationship with us. Let's have that relationship with Him.
Now, that I think I've figured out how to post here I'll be adding some thoughts on the passages we study as we go. Get out your bibles, whatever translation you like and can understand and lets dig into God's word and see what treasures he has for us today. Ready! Set! Go!
Oh, might want to copy the section we are studying out and post it somewhere where it is close at hand so you can read it several times each day. As you do, ask him what it means, and then ponder it and meditate on it during the day and evening. Going to be a fun week. Let me know what happens.
